Why we created RenderThink

The story behind RenderThink: how an everyday problem for architects and designers became a platform used by many professionals.

Behind every project, there's a story. Here's ours.

An everyday problem

It all started with a conversation with an interior architect friend. He was telling me about his days: designing kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces. And above all, waiting. Waiting for his PC to finish renders. Waiting for the render software to cooperate. Waiting for the right moment to launch a render, because in the meantime, it was impossible to do anything else on the machine.

What struck me was that this problem was universal. All the design professionals I met had the same frustration. Hours lost every week waiting for machines to calculate pixels.

What if we could change that?

At the time, generative AIs were starting to show impressive results. I wondered: why not use this technology to solve this render problem? The idea wasn't to replace 3D modeling software, but to transform their exports into photorealistic renders instantly.

The first tests were promising, but far from perfect. Proportions were sometimes weird, textures inconsistent, and some details disappeared completely. It took months of adjustments to get results truly usable by professionals.

Building with users

From the start, we chose to build RenderThink with users, not for them. Every feature was tested by real professionals on real projects. Presentation mode? A kitchen designer asked for it because he wanted to show his renders to clients professionally. Team collaboration? A design agency that needed to share credits between several collaborators.

This approach allowed us to build something useful. Not a technically impressive but unusable tool, but a platform that fits into professionals' daily lives.

What drives us

When we receive a message from a user telling us they were able to present their project to the client the same day instead of waiting until the next day, we know we're on the right track. When a designer tells us she won a contract because she could show several options in a few hours, it gives meaning to all the work.

RenderThink isn't perfect. We still have plenty of things to improve, plenty of features to add, plenty of feedback to integrate. But every day, we move forward. And every user feedback helps us go in the right direction.

What's next

We have ideas in abundance. Features we'd like to add, improvements we want to make. But we prefer not to make promises. We prefer to deliver things that work and pleasantly surprise our users.

If you're curious to see where the platform is, create an account and test it yourself. And if you have ideas to improve it, write to us. We really read all messages, and some of RenderThink's best features come from user suggestions.

Thanks for being here. The adventure continues.
