The client asks for another material. The variant lands during the meeting.

  1. Photorealistic render of a living room open onto its kitchen, with two mustard-yellow sofas, a dining table and a dark grey wall

    01Modify

Another shade, on the designated zone only.

  2. 02Replace

The new one takes its place, at scale.

  3. 03Add

A catalogue product, placed at its real size.

  4. 04Remove

The floor is rebuilt behind it.

The editing that replaces 3D round-trips

  • Living room opening onto the kitchen: the dining-area wall is brushed as the designated zone, and the olive shade is already applied to it. The rest of the room is intact.

    Material library

    You point, RenderThink applies

You mark the exact area to modify (floor, wall, furniture) with the brush, the eraser or the polygon tool, then pick the finish: RenderThink applies it right there, as if the material had always been there. On desktop, smart click selects a whole object in a single click.

  • Real products, not approximations

Design software often ships a limited catalog. On the area, drop a material, a texture, a real product from our catalog or your own visual.

The rest of the image untouched

Only the painted area changes. The perspective, shadows and lighting of the original render are preserved to the pixel.

  • Several variants live

Compare hardwood, polished concrete or marble side by side during the meeting, in the time it takes to paint a new one.

  • In a matter of seconds

Each variant appears in a matter of seconds, instead of hours of re-rendering.

  • No 3D round-trip

You work directly on the render: no need to go back to SketchUp, Revit or your design software.

How it works

  1. Start from your render

Open an existing render directly in the Studio.

  2. One layer per change

Pick the action (modify, remove, add or replace), mark the area with the brush, smart click or polygon, then choose the color, texture or object to place.

  3. RenderThink applies the change

The result is regenerated without going back to the 3D model, keeping the rest of the image intact.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change a material on a render that is already generated?

Open the render in the Studio and mark the area to change with the brush, smart click or the polygon tool. Then pick the new material, colour or a catalog product: RenderThink applies the change to that spot only, keeping the original perspective, shadows and lighting.

Does RenderThink recognise walls, floors and furniture on its own?

No, you mark the area yourself, with the brush, the eraser or the polygon tool. On desktop, smart click selects a whole object in one click, but nothing is segmented without your input. That choice leaves you in exact control of what changes in the image, surface by surface.

Can I place a specific product rather than an approximation?

Yes. On the marked area you drop a material, a texture, a real catalog product or your own visual. RenderThink does not invent the piece of furniture: it fits the one you supply into the perspective and the lighting of the existing render.

How long does one finish variant take?

A matter of seconds, where a conventional re-render takes hours. That is what makes it possible to compare several floors, worktops or cabinet fronts during a client meeting, without ever reopening your design software.

Can I add, replace or remove an object?

Yes, those are the Studio’s four actions: modify a material or colour on the designated zone, replace the designated object with another one in the same place and at scale, add a catalogue product or an image of your own on a real surface, remove an object with its shadows while rebuilding the background. In all four cases nothing changes outside the zone.

How long and how many credits for an edit?

An edit comes back in a few dozen seconds: the median times measured in production in September 2026 go from about 30 seconds in 1K to just over a minute in 8K. It uses credits included in your subscription, like a render, more in 4K and 8K.
