The kitchen you drew in InSitu comes back as a photograph, and your design stays open.

An entry in the Scenes menu, or an image export

A classic Windows installer sets up the plugin and adds “AI render RenderThink” to the Scenes menu, just under Photorealism, in InSitu and in KitchenDraw. Frame the kitchen, open the window, capture: the view goes to render and the project stays open. Without the plugin, export the scene image as PNG and drop it into the Studio: the result is identical, only the capture is spared.

  1. Set the scene for a neutral base

Low natural light, reduced artificial light, camera at the height of a standing adult, semi-realistic view rather than InSitu’s photorealism. The export is not a final image: it must be readable, not pretty.

  2. Capture and start the render

Pick the project and the resolution, from 1K draft to 8K, then start. The computation runs on our servers, the render comes back into the project in about a minute; you can close the window meanwhile.

  3. Vary the finishes on the render

Paint the fronts, the worktop or the splashback and choose the new finish or a catalogue product: the variant appears in a few dozen seconds, without reopening InSitu. Compare oak, lacquer and anthracite during the meeting.

  4. Send the showroom presentation

Overview, island close-up, worktop detail, before-and-after comparison, gathered in a presentation shared by secure link. The client looks at it at home, shows it around and comes back to sign.

Setting up InSitu before sending

Natural light at minimum
Scene lighting window, Natural light tab: intensity about 19%, sunny time about 18%, interior scene ticked. No pure white and no blocked-up black: the render cannot restore what it cannot see.
Reduced artificial light
Untick automatic artificial light, then lamp with automatic layout, power 30%, shading 25%, ambient 30%. Just enough to read materials and cast shadows.
Camera slightly looking down
Observation window: height 1,450 to 1,500 mm, angle -1°. That is the gaze of a client walking into the room.
Semi-realistic view, 4K export
Avoid InSitu’s built-in photorealism, whose effects blur the analysis; export the semi-realistic view at 3,840 × 2,160. Import: PNG, JPG or WebP, 10 MB and 8,192 px at most.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a photorealistic render from InSitu or KitchenDraw?

With the plugin, open the Scenes menu, choose AI render RenderThink, capture the displayed view and start: the photorealistic render comes back into the project in about a minute. Without the plugin, export the scene image as PNG (ideally 3,840 × 2,160, semi-realistic view) and drop it into the Studio. The InSitu file itself is never sent.

Does the plugin work with KitchenDraw?

Yes. InSitu and KitchenDraw share the same technical base, and the same installer adds the AI render RenderThink entry to the Scenes menu of both. It runs on Windows, like the host software. A kitchen designer moving from KitchenDraw to InSitu keeps the same plugin, account and projects.

Why not use InSitu’s built-in photorealism?

The built-in render is technically right, but its generic textures and artificial lighting look like a 3D diagram more than a photo, and its post-processing effects blur the image. RenderThink starts from the more neutral semi-realistic view and computes light, reflections and materials like an interior photograph, without touching your dimensions or layout. You keep InSitu to design and quote; the render comes out in a minute.

Can I show several fronts or worktops without redoing the scene?

Yes, directly on the render. You paint the zone to change, fronts, worktop, splashback or floor, then pick the new finish or a catalogue product: the variant appears in a few dozen seconds, and the rest of the image does not move. You compare natural oak, white lacquer and anthracite grey during the meeting, without reopening InSitu or starting a full render again.

How long does a render take, and how many credits?

From click to result, the median times measured in production in September 2026 are about 30 seconds in 1K, 40 seconds in 2K, 50 seconds in 4K and just over a minute in 8K, upscale included. Each render, edit or decoration uses credits included in your subscription, more in 4K and 8K; presentations and teamwork use none. The free 14-day trial includes credits to test on your own kitchens.

Do I need a powerful machine in the showroom?

No. The computation runs on our servers: the machine that runs InSitu is enough, with no dedicated graphics card or heavy installation. You can close the plugin window, carry on with the layout or quit InSitu: the generation continues and waits for you in the Studio history, in the plugin as in the browser.

Try it on your own project.
